Rick Sedivy

DoorKing

Richard Sedivy is the Director of Marketing and Regulatory Affairs for DoorKing, Inc. He has over 50 years of experience in access control and vehicular automated gate systems and has been employed with DoorKing since 1991. Richard is responsible for directing and coordinating business activities related to all aspects of marketing for the company’s products. He is also responsible for implementation of Regulatory Compliance and Product Safety. Richard has been an active member within DASMA (Door and Access Systems Manufacturers Association) since its founding in 1996. He is a past president (2006-2008) and serves as Chair of the gate operator committee. He currently serves on the DASMA Board of Directors and is a founding member of the IDEA’s (Institute for Dealer Education and Accreditation) Automated Vehicular Gate Systems Coalition Committee. Richard is a member of the U.L. 325 Standards Technical Panel (STP).

Tom DeSilvia

Chamberlain

Tom DeSilvia is the Director of Engineering for the Chamberlain Group. Tom joined Chamberlain in 2004 and has held several positions in engineering and legal. Tom currently spends much of his time overseeing regulatory engineering, global standards development, as well as investigating and supporting Chamberlain’s product liability cases. Tom has been an active member within DASMA for over 17 years. He is Chair of the Automated Vehicular Gate Systems Coalition, Vice-Chair of DASMA’s Gate Operator Committee, and serves on IDEA’s Board of Directors as President. Tom spearheaded the 2016 changes to UL325 that required entrapment protection to be monitored for gate operators and is an active voting member on four industry Standard Technical Panels. He is also a participant of the IEC TC61 and MT25 committees that drive international standards. Tom is a Certified Project Management Professional, Certified Information Privacy Manager, Certified Automatic Gate System Designer, and Professional Scrum Master. Tom received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Iowa, a MS in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University, and an MBA from Northern Illinois University.

David Monsour

DASMA

Dave Monsour has been the Technical Director of the Door & Access Systems Manufacturers Association (DASMA) since October 2021. DASMA is North America’s largest trade association for manufacturers of vehicular access doors and access systems of all types, including sectional garage doors, rolling doors, high-performance doors, door operators, and gate operators. Previously, Dave worked in the industry for 29 years with Wayne Dalton and Overhead Door, where, most recently, he was Senior Manager of applications, with responsibility for product support nationwide and custom design for all door types. Dave lives with his wife and children in northeast Ohio.
