Understanding Wind-load Doors and Requirements
Friday, September 20 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM
During this session, Joe Berger will discuss how to read drawings and properly install as well as how wind-load doors perform in a storm.
Joe Berger
Born into the industry as a 3rd generation door man, Joe began his career in the manufacturing facility packing hardware at 14 years old.
As time went on he worked in every department manufacturing residential and commercial Miami-Dade impact rated doors. Once Joe turned 18 years old, he went out in the field to learn the installation and service side of the business. This experience allowed him the knowledge to pass the IDEA Accreditation and become the first master tech in the tri-county area. Mr. Berger also became the license holder and qualifier at age 24.
After many years and hundreds of installs/repairs later he went into R & D department. There he was involved in designing and manufacturing new products. It was at that time that Joe was awarded multiple design patents on garage door hardware and formed Stealth Hardware Solutions.
His entire career has been focused within a “Wind-load market”. He has been actively working in this market for the past 26 years.
Joe is also a husband to a wonderful wife and father of two children. He spends weekends at T-Ball practice and swimming in their pool (or anything to keep his two young children entertained). Joe and his wife try to travel as much as they can using her flight benefits from her job as a flight attendant.
